Although a direct OC45 service would be very nice, I was thinking more along the lines of Speakeasy (www.speakeasy.net).

TW has been rock solid for me, mostly. My first cable modem died after four years. The tech who replaced it was surprised it lasted that long. It started to cut my connection for 30s-1m every 30m or so. My replacement did much the same thing, but at a longer interval. However, more recently, it has for no good reason been up and stable.

A friend used to work at a call center supporting DSL and suggested he would never use it.

So maybe you need to buy an OC48 service to keep yourself happy. I'm sure that would be under the "gladly pay more" category.
